Mason HOA Management at Its Best
In 1803 William Mason purchased the land that is now downtown Mason. Twelve years later the village of Palmira was born when Mason platted the first sixteen lots. In 1832, more than forty additional lots were platted and when recorded the plat listed the village’s name as Palmyra. After a mail mix up in which the federal post office called the town Kirkwood after the postmaster, city officials learned there was another Palmyra in Ohio and the town was officially renamed Mason.
Mason continued on as a small farming village and at the time of its incorporation as a city in 1970, the population was under 5,700. Today the population has grown to over 31,000, partly in thanks to the nearly 500 business that operate within city limits, including Procter & Gamble, Cintas, Heinz, and Mitsubishi Electric. Mason is also home to major attractions of Kings Island, Great Wolf Lodge, and the Lindner Family Tennis Center, which hosts the annual Cincinnati Masters tournament.
